On behalf of the My Business team and our sponsors, we would like to thank the many hundreds of business owners who have entered the 2010 ActionCOACH My Business Awards. We all know that running a business is hard work. Business owners carry a lot of responsibility on their shoulders – to their staff, to their customers, their banks, suppliers, landlords, and to their own families.

It is fair to say that there are few areas of life – outside perhaps extreme sports – which challenge individuals to mature and grow psychologically as running your own business. It requires intestinal fortitude, optimism, resilience, the ability to think outside the square and a broad range of skills. If you’re not willing to get your hands dirty, don’t even think about becoming a small business owner!

Of course, if you can make your business work, there are both psychological and financial rewards. So, thank you again for taking the time to enter the 2010 Awards.

You are invited to attend the grand finalé at the Gala Awards presentation ceremony on Friday 24 September 2010, The Ivy Room, Sydney. It will be a night to celebrate success, so reward your staff for their hard work, bring them along and join in for a memorable night.  Australia's most respected journalist, television and radio broadcaster for more than four decades, Steve Liebmann, will compere the night. Starting at 7pm, the Gala Dinner will be a fabulous night of fun, food and entertainment with Australia’s popular dance band, Boogie Fever, as we celebrate the best of the best.
