The Optus‐Innov8 Seed program, an early‐stage investment collaboration between Optus and SingTel Innov8, is returning on an annual basis, offering tech innovators around Australia the chance to apply for funds, resources and support.

The Optus‐Innov8 Seed program had previously been run bi‐yearly, but with the application process now open year round, innovative start-ups around the country can apply for funding when they’re ready for it. Optus‐Innov8 Seed Director Peter Huynh said feedback from the start-up community has helped evolve the Optus‐Innov8 Seed model to better offer support to start-ups when they need it.

“Early‐stage entrepreneurs have immediate needs for funding and support,” Huynh said. “Now we’re open all year long, startups now have the freedom to approach us when the timing is right for them.

“In working with early‐stage start-ups over the last 18 months, we’ve really come to understand their priorities. The Optus‐Innov8 Seed showcase events aim to get key industry players together to connect and hopefully form fruitful business relationships. The reality is that for start-ups, customers and partners are just as important as funding.”

As part of the program, a series of showcase events have been launched to help start-ups meet key industry players. Bringing early‐stage start-ups together with corporates, investors and fellow innovators in a casual setting, these events aim to spark some useful connections that could lead to partnerships, investments and future opportunities.

The showcase events will commence in December, with each focusing on specific investment themes. The first will look at how the new digital age of innovation impacts the way we learn. More information and application details can be found at this website
