- Hard to find information.

From now until August 10 the ATO is offering a number of free webinars to help SME owners wanting to update their tax knowledge, as well as those who are just starting a new business or thinking about starting one. The webinars are divided into 12 topic modules; interested parties can review the webinar topics for more info and book their spot here.
Australian Defence Magazine reports that two Aussie engineering SMEs have been awarded contracts totalling approximately US$1.85 million from Boeing to manufacture parts and assemblies for the P-8A Poseidon maritime reconnaissance aircraft. Sydney’s Lovitt Technologies Australia and Brisbane-based Ferra Engineering were identified by Boeing’s Office of Australian Industry Capability (OAIC), part of the Defence Materiel Organisation’s Global Supply Chain Program. Lovitt Technologies will manufacture mission systems parts and assembly fabrications for the P-8 aircraft, while Ferra Engineering will supply internal and external airframe parts and assemblies to support various P-8 flight and mission systems. Nice one!
Aviation Business reports that SME Association of Australia Gold Corporate Member Virgin Australia has been recognised at the prestigious 2012 Skytrax World Airline Awards in London for ‘Best Airline’ and ‘Best Staff Service’ in the Australia Pacific region.
