Inaugural Australian Small Business Commissioner Mark Brennan (pictured), one of a number of VIPs who will attend the event in Sydney next week, has thrown his support behind the 2013 ActionCOACH My Business Awards.
The My Business Awards, which are being staged for the 13th consecutive year in 2013, is Australia’s premier awards program for SME business owners. With the finalists across the eight categories announced last week, the awards night is happening at Marquee at The Star in Sydney on Thursday September 19 from 1830.
Commissioner Brennan will officially open the Awards night with a brief update on the small business advocacy initiatives his office is undertaking in support of small business owners nationwide. As well as Commissioner Brennan, other confirmed VIPs for the 2013 ActionCOACH My Business Awards night include NSW Small Business Commissioner Yasmin King, NSW Deputy Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment, and Minister for Regional Infrastructure and Services, Andrew Stoner, and Tina Tower of Begin Bright, overall winner at the 2012ActionCOACH My Business Awards.
Commissioner Brennan says he is honoured to open the 2013 My Business Awards.
“My Business provides tremendous support to the small business sector and, through the My Business Awards, a great platform for recognising hardworking and successful small businesses,” Brennan says. “It is important to acknowledge the contribution of small businesses to the local community in generating employment for millions of Australians, as well as their contribution to the Australian economy.
“I commend all entrants in the My Business Awards as the process of entering awards of this nature provides a useful means to measure and assess the effectiveness of your business' performance. It can also be a valuable way of evaluating if your business is in a position to introduce growth and innovation.
“I always encourage winners of such awards to milk the win for all it’s worth. It's a great marketing opportunity to grow your business and a valuable tool for increasing your sales. Publicise the win on your website or via social media, use it in your branding and display the award at your business premises – use the win to your advantage. Milk it!”
Tickets to the 2013 ActionCOACH My Business Awards night can be purchased via our website now. Ticket sales will close shortly though, so be sure to get yours while they're still available.
