The Weddos, as they're affectionately known, came up in Melbourne in the mid-80s with a quintessentially Aussie sound and knack for storytelling, and in the last six or so years have reunited for a handful of reunion shows that went down a treat. Along with Paul Kelly, The Weddos' frontman Mick Thomas is arguably one of the finest songwriters Australia has produced. Below are two prime examples of this - A Tale They Won't Believe and Monday's Experts, the former based on a savage convict tale from Van Diemen's Land that every Aussie should be learning about in school, and the latter a song that every betting man and woman will undoubtedly relate to.
