Business NSW has said the ongoing viability of many local businesses is riding on all of us doing the right thing and continuing to get vaccinated in record numbers.
The digital ads will start to appear on social media channels from today. Business NSW CEO Daniel Hunter said the only way out of this is to reach those 70% and 80% fully vaccinated targets.
“Our ad features real small business owners — all willing to put their hand up and be involved in the campaign which reminds people about the importance of local small businesses, and what they’ve missed during lockdown,” Mr Hunter said.
“We’ve got to remember there are so many businesses shut right now, not trading, not getting any revenue, which still have to pay staff and overheads.”
The NSW government is aiming to release its roadmap to reopening in the coming days. Mr Hunter said this will be crucial for businesses to understand the new operating environment.
“It also needs to be made as easy as possible for businesses to reopen and welcome customers back in a COVID-safe way,” he said.
Business NSW has been pushing for a staged reopening for fully vaccinated staff and customers in low-risk areas and industries to get money and jobs flowing again.
“As the government repeatedly says, the key to getting our lives back is to get vaccinated as quickly as possible,” Mr Hunter said.
To better educate business operators and their staff, Business NSW has also launched a vaccine hub with educational and informative content.
