Nikalene and Michael Riddle, of Adelaide, took out the Highest Percentage Growth category, after posting 300 per cent growth since last year in their weight loss business, Skinnymixers.
Launched in 2013, Skinnymixers offers a range of recipes and cookbooks designed to help people lose weight without compromising on taste.
The company’s first book had a print run of 4,000 copies, however the order with the printing company had to be extended on the first day. Skinnymixers has now built an audience of over 150,000, and sells to almost 50 countries.
In 2016, the company averaged 1,500 sales per month, but so far in 2017, that has increased to an average of 6,000 sales per month.
As part of the winners unveiled in New York, Nikalene and Michael received a tailored eight-day entrepreneurship workshop, including mentoring sessions with the likes of American motivational speaker Tony Robbins, businessman Daymond John and founder of children’s media company GoldieBlox, Debbie Sterling.
The Shopify awards received entries from businesses operating in 750 cities across 70 countries worldwide.
