In a bid to create the next wave of entrepreneurship in Australia, some of the country’s leading entrepreneurs have joined forces to launch a unique business school that encourages creative enterprise.
Led by entrepreneur Ryan Trainor and DT Digital founder David Trewern, BSchool will offer a Diploma of Business that focuses on empowering and training entrepreneurs, and influence what they describe as an unprecedented shift in the Australian economy.
Trainor said the aim of BSchool is to create a movement that is about pushing and driving new entrepreneurs to have the courage and confidence to create opportunities in Australia.
“Over the past few decades, Australia has relied heavily on key industries to maintain our economic growth,” Trainor said. “And thanks to relatively strong relationships with key export markets, it’s remained steady despite the global financial crisis. But as a nation we don’t want to sit on our laurels, and we need to be innovative and encourage entrepreneurship as key driver of our economy.
“As a group of like-minded entrepreneurs, we recognise that there is little in the way of education to directly respond to this shift. That’s why we’ve joined together to establish BSchool; to help direct and fuel, a national movement toward the creative economy. This is where BSchool comes in – we’re here to empower the next wave of entrepreneurs, and give them the tools they need to bring their ideas to life.”
The first of its kind in Australia, Trewern said BSchool’s diploma would focus on building a business from an entrepreneurs point of view; from ideation to execution, utilising the skills of experienced business leaders who have started their own companies from scratch. BSchool offers a one-year Diploma of Business in an online, flexible format with VET FEE-HELP available.
“BSchool’s Diploma of Business favours a holistic and practical approach, injecting the DNA of some of the country’s top entrepreneurs into a business foundation course,” he said. “It guides students through the process of building a business, from ideation and creation through to implementation of new products and strategies.
“People say that there is no science to being an entrepreneur, but the reality is that there’s a method. Our model teaches this, with each unit representing one step in the entrepreneurial and business development journey. It’s not just about theory, either. It gives practical lessons directly from a carefully chosen entrepreneur in their area of expertise.”
