All the smaller - and occasionally weird, wild, bizarre or hilarious – business-related news to emerge this week from Australia and across the globe.
We hear that massive online retailer Amazon is said to be considering Australia as a potential base in the Asia Pacific region as it begins its next phase of expansion plans. One of the key attractions for Amazon potentially setting up Down Under is said to be the supply of quality warehouses and attractive rents. The word is that Amazon reps will tour prospective sites on the eastern seaboard in coming months with an eye on sites no smaller than 40,000 to 50,000m2 and close to transport hubs such as Port Botany and Port of Melbourne.
The Eureka Report has launched the Eureka Congress, two investment events that will take place in Sydney and Melbourne in June. Organisers say the events will give individual investors, from DIY to professional, the chance to access some of Australia’s top financial thinkers, commentators and investors, as well as participate in seminars more tailored to their individual needs.
