Australian Olympic swim coach Laurie Lawrence is heading a national hunt in the lead-up to the London Olympic Games to find the best motivators among Australia’s SME community as part of the Telstra Business “Go For Business Gold” competition.
The Telstra Business “Go For Business Gold” competition is open to all Australian residents over 18 who own or operate a business with 200 or fewer employees.
Two-dozen finalists (three from each state and territory) and partners will be brought to Sydney for an exclusive small business Master Class on 19 July to work with leaders in business management and marketing. They’ll also be hosted at an Olympic themed Business Gold networking function at the Museum of Contemporary Art that night to meet Telstra Australian Business Award winners and other business experts and will also receive a Samsung Galaxy SII 4G smartphone.
On the night Lawrence will announce the eight entries that he’s judged to be the best, with the winners receiving a package comprising a visit to their workplace from an Olympic or Paralympic athlete, business communications products and professional media and marketing assistance.
“Hard work doesn’t stop when the training session is over or you lock the office – in sport and small business you not only need to motivate yourself, but your customers and the people around you,” Lawrence said. “Telstra Business Go For Business Gold is a fantastic way to show how you do that - and get into the Olympic spirit.
To enter, entrants need to go to Telstra’s corporate blog site, Telstra Exchange, and upload a short video showing how their business excels and exceeds their customers’ and employees’ expectations as a motivator.
“It doesn’t matter whether you’re a small or medium-sized business or a sole trader – fire up your video camera, smartphone or tablet and show us how you motivate yourself or others to keep succeeding,” Lawrence enthuses.
Entries close 1700 AEST on Monday July 9.
