Today's Christmas present candidate can impart leather-bound elegance to the newest, hippest and most modern gadgets.
If you own an iPad, iPhone 4 or MacBook you know that they are wonderful expressions of modernity. Plenty of the cases we see for all three accentuate that look with modern materials like neoprene or silicon.
But when our design team pointed out Twelve South's BookBook range of faux leather-bound books as iPad covers, we felt perhaps it was time to think of Apple's products as timelessly elegant instead of relentlessly modern.
These cases look like an old book, but have lots of modern inclusions like zips, elasticised straps to hold your gadget safely and clever hinges that form a stand. the iPad case costs $US69.99, plus shipping.
Twelve South is a US-based company, but the member of the My Business design team that spotted its products also ordered one and reports a two week wait for shipping. That leaves you plenty of time to get one here for Christmas.
