Who can use this register?

This register can be used by all businesses who engage contractors. This register should be used in conjunction with the Contractor Management Procedure, the Contractor Pre-Qualification Checklist and the Contractor Induction Checklist.


When the Contractor has met the pre-qualification requirements and been approved by the business, their details can be entered into the Approved Contractor Register. As part of this process, an appropriate date to review this Contractor should be entered into the Register and the appropriate person notified of the review date. Contractors should be removed from this Register if they do not continue to meet required standards, particularly if there have been any changes to the relevant requirements in the workplace.

Complete the Register for each approved contactor. Completing and maintaining the Register will help employers meet their obligation under the work health and safety legislation to ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, the health and safety of their workers and others in the workplace.
