Who can use this Policy?  

This policy can be used by all employers.


It is useful for employers to make clear to their employees what is expected in terms of their attendance at work, and what to do in the event they are likely to be absent from work. Making employees aware of their obligations in a clear and concise way can assist you to performance manage an employee, or in appropriate cases, to terminate employment based on issues related to attendance and absenteeism.

In finalising this policy you should have regard to any obligations in awards, enterprise agreements, employment contracts, other policies etc that apply to your business.
