Who can use this policy?

This policy can be used by all employers.

Commentary

This policy assists employers and agents, contractors (including temporary contractors), consultants, volunteers and board members (referred to as ‘workplace participants’) to understand the appropriate standards of behaviour when managing their “personal relationships” in the workplace.

Personal relationships can include dating, romantic relationships, close relationships, friendships and members of the workplace participant’s household.

The policy outlines the obligations of workplace participants in relation to identifying, declaring and managing conflicts of interest in relation to personal relationships and provides solutions to manage those issues if they arise in the workplace.
