Who can use this checklist?
This checklist can be used by all employers.
Under the relevant health and safety legislation and associated regulations and codes of practice, the primary duty imposed on a person conducting a business or undertaking is to eliminate or minimise, as far as reasonably practicable, the risks to health and safety in the workplace.
This checklist sets out factors [without limitation] to consider as part of the risk management process for identifying risks associated with fatigue such as shiftwork operations, driving long distances, and issues/flaws with current fatigue management processes within the business. This checklist will assist businesses to meet their work, health and safety obligations regarding fatigue management and will assist with helping to ensure that any potential risks are eliminated, or minimised, as far as reasonably practicable, so that work is able to be performed in a safe manner.
