This policy can be used by all employers.

Commentary 

It is useful for employers to make clear to their employees what is expected in terms of their attendance at work, and what to do in the event they are likely to be absent from work. Making employees aware of their obligations in a clear and concise way can assist the employer to performance manage an employee, or in appropriate cases, to terminate their employment based on issues related to attendance and absenteeism.

In finalising this policy, employers should have regard to any obligations in modern awards, enterprise agreements, employment contracts, and/or, other policies etc that apply to the business.
